Nike today unveiled an interesting colorway for its Hypervenom Phinish football boots to close the year and as one of the last releases of the second-gen Hypervenom cleats overall. The black and blue Nike Hypervenom Phinish soccer boots are included in the Nike Dark Lightning pack.
The likes of Gonzalo Higuaín, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney are expected to switch to the predominantly black Nike Hypervenom cleats once they are unveiled, while Nike of course also unveiled a Hypervenom Phantom II variant for those who prefer the heightened Dynamic Fit collar. That version will be worn by players such as Edinson Cavani, Robert Lewandowski and Riyad Mahrez.
Nike Hypervenom Phinish - Black / Volt / Paramount Blue / White
This image shows the November 2016 Nike Hypervenom Phinish soccer boot colorway from the Nike Dark Lightning collection.
Predominantly black, the new Nike Hypervenom Phinish boots boast an intriguing graphic design on both sides, roughly following the inspiration of the second-gen Hypervenom's trademark splatter zig-zag graphic. The visual detailing features Paramount Blue as well as Volt, while all brandings, including two sizable Swooshes at the front and back, are white. The sole plate of the black and Volt Nike Hypervenom 2016-17 boots is solid Volt.
Tech-wise, the Nike Hypervenom Phinish Dark Lightning in black, green and blue boasts a tongue-less construction, while its thin NikeSkin upper features a honeycomb-like structure and is designed to ease the break-in period and provide a flexible and responsive feel.
The outsole of the last Nike Hypervenom Phinish boots in 2016 comes with conical studs for rotational agility and is in fact identical to the one used for the higher-priced Nike Hypervenom Phantom II cleats.
Available from November 25, 2016, the black Nike Hypervenom Phinish 2016-2017 Dark Lightning cleats retail at $200 (€200, £160).
