ACF Fiorentina To Sign Six-Year (4+2) Kappa Kit Deal
According to Fiorentina News, Kappa and Fiorentina will sign an initial four year deal with the option to extend the contract for another two seasons.
It is also reported that the French supplier Le Coq Sportif wanted to extend the agreement, but Fiorentina was not interested due to serious problems in supplying sports equipment, which left many shops without equipment for fans.
The Le Coq Sportif deal deal was worth around €4.4m ($4.8m) per season, or €22m over the five-year term from 2015-16 to 2019-20.
Kappa will make Fiorentina's kits for the first time in history.
Kappa will pay a little less than Le Coq, about 2.5 million euros compared to 2.8 million euros per season. The team plans to recover this gap as they hope to sell more Kappa stuff and gain royalties (Le Coq Sportif had delivery problems, as mentioned above).
The brand also plans to have the shirts by 2020-2021. In addition to the traditional purple shirt, one white and one red should be launched. Another novelty will be a line with more products, including pieces for women and children, and that for reasonable prices.
