Third Time: Le Coq Sportif Maradona 1986 World Cup Tribute Shirt Released

Maradona 86's new Tribute shirt was released a couple of weeks ago. It is made by Le Coq Sportif and is the third time they have released a commemorative shirt like this.

Check out Le Coq Sportif's Maradona 86 Tribute football shirt below.

The Le Coq Sportif Maradona 86 Tribute shirt is based on the shirt worn by Maradona and his Argentina teammates wore when they won the 1986 World Cup in mexico. The simple sky blue and white striped design with a round neck collar are faithful to the original, but the modern Le Coq Sportif logo and "86" badge mark it out as a reproduction.

The back is of course printed with the number 10 while ventilation holes are present all over the Le Coq Sportif Maradona 86 Tribute shirt. "Coronados de Gloria" text is placed just beneath the back of the collar.

Previous Editions

Last year, Le Coq Sportif released an almost identical shirt (above) as part of a collection that also featured socks and a sweatshirt. The same 86 logo was used in place of the Argentinian FA badge and the stripes' colours were inverted. The LCS logo was also slightly bigger and the colours of the French tricolour flag were visible on the collar.

A 20 year anniversary version was also released in 2006, as sported by Dios himself in the photos above. Featuring the same logo as the original, the shape of the 86 badge was not as close to the FA badge as those of the newer versions.

Not bad, but it would be impossible to recapture the magic of the original.
