The new FC Barcelona 2016-17 jersey was officially launched this morning. Inspired by the 1992 International Cup-winning uniform, the Barcelona 16-17 home kit returns to traditional stripes and lighter, more saturated blue and red colors. It is again made by long-term kit supplier Nike.
As FC Barcelona is yet to confirm a renewal with Qatar Airways or a new Barcelona 2016-2017 shirt sponsor contract, the Nike FC Barcelona 2016-17 home shirt doesn't feature a sponsor logo on the front for now. Secondary sponsor Beko's logo is present on the left sleeve of the FC Barcelona 2016-2017 home shirt in white, while Unicef retains its position on the lower back.
Barcelona 16-17 Kit
This is the new FC Barcelona shirt.
Based on Nike's 2016-17 template, very similar to what we've been seeing form the brand this season, the Barcelona 16-17 home kit is mostly blue. Two red stripes run down the front of the Barça 16-17 kit, while two thinner lines are visible on the sides and the lower part of the sleeves.
The Nike logo, placed on the right chest of the new Barcelona home kit, is once again colored in gold. A further detail of the Nike Barcelona 16-17 home kit is a fading pattern of smaller, tonal stripes on the front, a subtle nod to the 1992 Champions League-winning Barcelona jersey.
"Un Crit" and "Valent," which together mean "Our Cry is Bold" in Catalan, adorn the inside right and left cuffs of the Barcelona 16-17 jersey, respectively.
Blue shorts and socks with red detailing complete the traditional overall look of the Nike FC Barcelona 2016-17 home kit, ditching the red shorts of the current season. Alternate, red socks are also available.
