In a historic moment for women's football! Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, the most decorated club in the sport's history, has officially announced a major rebranding, adopting the new name "OL Lyonnes" and unveiling a striking new crest, effective from the 2025-2026 season. This transformation, detailed by owner Michele Kang, "signals a new era of ambition under the fitting slogan, "New History, Same Legend.""

OL Lyonnes - Olympique Lyonnais Women Team Announces New Name & All-New Logo

The new name, "OL Lyonnes," maintains the club's connection to the "OL family" and its Lyon roots, while the evolution to "Lyonnes" powerfully affirms its all-female identity.
Central to the rebrand is a brand-new OL Lyonnes logo, described as "resolutely feminine and modern." It features a proud, roaring lioness's head instead of the traditional lion, symbolizing boldness and determination. Her flame-shaped neck evokes passion, while the design's blend of rounded curves and sharp lines represents power and femininity. The iconic red and blue club colors are retained, now complemented by a new golden yellow for added warmth. Fittingly, the lioness wears a crown, acknowledging past glories and future ambitions.
Club captain Wendie Renard lauded the design, stating the new lioness emblem "perfectly reflects our warrior spirit." This significant rebranding comes alongside announcements of a new dedicated performance campus and the permanent move of all home matches to the Groupama Stadium, as OL Lyonnes aims to redefine what's possible in women's football.
We strongly expect that both the Men's and Women's football teams will get the same Adidas kits for the 2025-2026 season, just with a change of crests. We might see a bespoke Women's (extra) kit soon, possibly already in the 25-26 season.
