"Luv Ya Blue" Super Kit Competition - Design a Houston Oilers-Inspired Kit

"Luv Ya Blue" is a stylized way of saying "Love You, Blue." It was a slogan and rallying cry used by fans of the Houston Oilers football team in the late 1970s. The phrase became iconic during the team's successful seasons and passionate fan support. It captures the spirit of loyalty and enthusiasm for the Oilers, with "Blue" referring to the team's colors.

The "Luv Ya Blue" competition encourages designers and fans to create a Houston Oilers-inspired kit for either the Houston Dynamo or Houston Dash. This contest captures the style and heritage of the beloved Oilers team that represented Houston from 1960 until 1996.

Participants in this competition must use the classic Oilers colors in their designs. Kits should feature Columbia blue as the base, with white, red, and optional silver details allowed. Black and navy can only be used for logos or crests to keep the kits true to the traditional "Luv Ya Blue" aesthetic.

In 1997, the Houston Oilers essentially went through a transformation similar to what happened with MK Dons and Cardiff City, combining a change of location and colors with a complete rebranding of the team. The Oilers are today the Tennessee Titans.

Prize: Free Kit of Your Choice From Kitbag & One-Year Free Plus Ultimate Membership

The winner of the competition will receive a free authentic or replica jersey from Kitbag and a year of free Plus Ultimate membership on Kit Creator.

The design entries are currently open, with entries allowed until Sunday, 10 November 2024.
