The biggest club-level football tournament reaches the group stage round with 32 teams who will be battling for that prestigious cup. Interestingly according the data from by @mantosdofutebol, eight participants such as Atletico Mineiro, Independiente de Medellin, Internacional SC, Colo Colo Sporting Cristal, Flamengo, River Plate, and Boca Juniors all trusted their kit manufacturing to Adidas.

Meanwhile, Umbro that are also quite famous with South American teams, followed suit in second place as they sponsored five clubs, Athletico Paranaense, Fluminense, Argentinos Juniors, Aucas, and Nacional. Adidas and Umbro Make 50% of the Kits in Brasileirão Serie A - Only One Team for Nike

Just behind Umbro are Nike and Puma which both have four clubs under contract from the current 32 Libertadores representatives. The American-based manufacturers have Alianza Lima, Atlético Nacional, Corinthians, and Olimpia under their belt.

As for, Puma, the German manufacturer are partnering with Bolivar, Cerro Porteño, Libertad, and also Palmeiras. The surprising company on the list would probably be Marathon as they have three teams in the Copa Libertadores, which are Independiente Del Valle, Barcelona SC, and The Strongest.

Being an Ecuador-based company it’s certainly not a surprise seeing that they have two teams from the country trusting their kits under the company’s brand. Nevertheless, Marathon did beat more widely known sports brands such as Kappa, who only represent one team that are participating in the 2023 Copa Libertadores, Racing Club de Avellaneda.

The Italian brand are also beaten by RS Performance as the South American-based company have the likes of Metropolitanos and Monagas under contract. Accompanying Kappa, there are also five other sportswear that sponsored one team each but most of them are local companies and not international-based. Axfiu sponsored Patronato, MGR Sport - Liverpool Uruguay, One Fit-Nublense, Oto - Deportivo Pereira, and Walon - Melgar.
