New Balance today revealed its first ever kit for the Football Association of Ireland. The launch of the new Ireland 2017-18 home kit is part of the 'Is Féidir Linn Le Cheile' ('Together We Can') campaign. Replacing Umbro, New Balance signed a deal to become the official Ireland jersey supplier back in May.
General Manager of New Balance Football, Richard Wright stated: "We are delighted with the design of our first kit with the FAI, it delivers a classic looking shirt featuring cutting edge tech from our design team. The Republic of Ireland fans are world renowned, so we are excited to see their reaction and look forward to both the team and supporters wearing the colours with pride."

This image shows the first-ever Ireland home shirt by New Balance.
Inspired by the 1924 Ireland side that made their debut at the Olympic Games with a 1-0 win against Bulgaria, the Ireland 2017-2018 home kit by New Balance is green with subtle striping on the front. Mirroring the colors of the national team crest, the New Balance Ireland 2017-18 jersey features white and orange trim on the buttoned collar and the sleeve cuffs, while a thin white stripe is placed under the arms as part of the brand's current template.
'Éire', which is Irish for Ireland, is written on the upper back of the new Ireland home shirt, just below the collar. Finally, an unfortunate Three Ireland sponsor logo appears on the front of the kit, although this only applies to the replica for obvious reasons. #COYBIG is on the inside of the shirt collar, while #COYGIG is featuring on the womens' jerseys.
The kit is combined with white shorts and green socks.
It remains to be seen whether this first-ever New Balance Ireland kit will be used through the end of the World Cup or if the brand plans to release another Ireland jersey between now and June next year.
