Based on the first generation of the Nike Magista Obra, the new Nike Magista Obra Anti-Clog boots bring the completely new Nike Anti-Clog Traction technology to the pitch for the first time. The new Nike Anti-Clog Traction sole plates include an adaptive polymer that becomes compliant when exposed to water, thus all but preventing mud from sticking to it. Other than that, the sole plate of the new Nike Magista Obra Anti-Clog cleats is a fairly straightforward SG solution that combines 12 studs of different lengths.
Design-wise, the new Nike Magista Anti-Clog boots feature an understated look. Predominantly black, they include a subtle iridescent effect on the inside of the brandings and the lateral zig-zag texture layer, while the Swooshes are outlined in garish green.
“Mud has always presented unfortunate but seemingly accepted problems. Players are accustomed to clanking their boots together as they exit the pitch or rubbing them over harsh brushes to remove mud. Worse, they play slower and cautiously as mud makes their feet heavy and compromises their traction,” says Max Blau, VP of Nike Football Footwear.
Part of an initial limited-quantities rollout of the Nike Anti-Clog technology, the new Nike Magista Obra Anti-Clog boots will be available through the Nike Football app on April 15, 2016. All cleats included in the first-ever Nike Anti-Clog soccer cleat pack carry the Nike Anti-Clog Traction hexagon mark on the heel.
