Zambian Division 1 club Atletico Lusaka have unveiled their new 2022-2023 home, away and third shirts which all feature the Parmalat logo that is synonymous with 90s football.
Return of Parmalat Shirt Sponsor
Classic 90s shirt sponsor Parmalat has popped up again in a rather unlikely place; the first division of Zambian football. They are the new sponsor of Atletico Lusaka and their updated logo has pride of place on Lusaka's three new 22-23 Eye Sportswear kits. In the 80s the Italian dairy company sponsored Real Madrid and in 1991 they bought Parma Calcio, pumping money into the club and bankrolling their acquisition of many top players, leading to the most successful spell in club history.
Their logo also adorned the kits of Boca Juniors, Benfica, Audax Italiano, Estudiantes, Olympique Marseilles, Juventude, LDU Quito, Penarol, Universidad Catolica, and Mol Fehevir FC among others. Financial difficulties put an end to their sponsorship ventures not long after the turn of the millenium so it's a nice throwback to see them reappear in the game with Atlético Lusaka. Check out their new shirts below.
