Australian Club Fraser Park FC 'Steals' Portugal Crest & Kits - Here Is Why

When we first saw the new kits of Australian club Fraser Park FC, we just thought "What the hell is going on here" - the kits and their logo are remarkably similar to those of the Portuguese national football team. Let us find out why.

The reason for the logo and the jerseys being almost the same as those from Portugal are simple. Fraser Park FC was founded as "Clube Portugues de Sydney” in 1961 in Paddington, in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. It was here that a small number of Portuguese migrants began to plan the future of the club, which later became Fraser Park F.C.

Fraser Park FC today puts its focus on the development of young players. Their first team is playing in the fifth-tier Australian league.

Fraser Park FC Logo

Inspired by the crest of the Portuguese national team, the Fraser Park FC logo replaces the Quinas (five blue crosses) with a football and the acronym of the Portuguese Football Federation (F.P.F.) with the acronyms of Fraser Park FC (F.P.F.C.). Other differences include the shades of the colors, but the shape and the overall appearance remains remarkably similar.

Fraser Park FC 2020 Kits

The Fraser Park FC 2020 home kit boasts the same colors and a similar design as those as Portugal's 2018 World Cup jerseys. The kit has been produced by a local supplier of soccer jerseys (feel free to leave the name in the comments below if you know it).

The away kit is black, green and gold, based on the same design as the home jersey.
