Italian newspaper Tuttosport has revealed the 20-man final shortlist for the Golden Boy award, which is given to the calendar year's best Europe-based player under 21. We take a look at the boots of the 20 Finalists, in cooperation with Football Boots DB.
The Golden Boy is given to a young footballer playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year. All nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation's top tier. The 2020 Golden Boy Award winner is chosen by 40 journalists from the most famous European newspapers.
Last year, the Golden Boy winner was Portuguese talent João Félix of Atlético Madrid while the Franco-Moroccan Mattéo Guendouzi (loaned a few days ago from Arsenal to Hertha) won the Golden Boy Web Award - he was the most "clicked" for internet users.

Nike clearly leads the race for the best young players with 14 players, followed by Adidas with 5 players. New Balance supplies one player (Arsenal's Bukayo Saka), while Puma does not have a single player under contract.
The Mercurial is by far the most popular boot of the 2020 Golden Boy Award finalists - 10 of 20 players are either wearing the Superfly or Vapor, including the favorites Haaland, Sancho and Ansu Fati.
