Several months ago, Puma launched their new platform for teams to create their own football kits. It is called Puma Kit Factory and was been made available in Europe recently.
Puma Kit Factory
Launched back in Novermber of 2021 on the German market, the new Puma Kit Factory is a service that allows anyone to create their own custom Puma jerseys.
It comes with two templates, different collar options, a variety of graphics and even customizable shorts. There are 15 colors, all currently in use with other official Puma products.
The new service is comparable to Adidas' miteam program, although nowhere near as fleshed out yet.
In conjunction with German kit organizer 11teamsports, the Puma Kit Factory allows teams to create unique colors schemes and designs.
11teamsports take over the process of embellishment of custom logos as well as sending out the finished product.
Prior Use of the Puma Kit Factory
If we take an in-depth look into the available customization options, it becomes evident that the templates and graphics from Puma's new service have already been in use since the 2020-21 season.
There are various examples, including Fürth's 20-21 home and away, Ingolstadt's and Osnabrück's 20-21 home and many more kits.
Even the likes of Sassuolo seem to have received what is now available as the fastPLAY template, using an existing collar style and graphic option for each of their 2020-21 kits. In fact, many of these graphics have been in circulation for a while.
We expect smaller clubs to more frequently make use of the Puma Kit Factory, as it helps them avoid basic teamwear looks.
