Just three of originally six different brands have 'survived' the group stage of the 2017-2018 Champions League, with Puma completely missing out. Adidas (6 teams) and Nike (7 teams) dominate the first knock-out stage, while New Balance has still three teams under contract.
After we looked at the different kit manufactures of the biggest European leagues, we want to give an overview of the 2017-18 Champions League kit makers. And while the European leagues are characterized by a growing brands diversity, European's biggest stage is dominated by the two big brands - Adidas and Nike.
2017-18 Champions League Kit Makers - Adidas & Nike Make Kits For 25 of 32 Teams
Puma just makes the jerseys for one team competing in the 17-18 Champions League group stage (via Efsane Çubuklu).
Adidas teams won four of the 'Big 5' European leagues as well as the Champions League & Europa League last season, and the German brand is well-positioned to also dominate the 2017-2018 Champions League campaign making the jerseys for 14 teams. Nike is second with 11 teams, including the likes of Barcelona, PSG, Manchester City and Monaco.
New Balance has managed to sign four teams participating in the 17-18 Champions League group stage, becoming the clear winner behind the quite unreachable Adidas & Nike. Puma, traditionally the third most important football brand, just makes the kits for Dortmund as Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage.
Kappa and Macron make the jerseys for one team, respectively.
