Patrice Evra's Team: Estrela da Amadora Leaves Lacatoni and Joins Umbro

Update: After two days of speculation, Estrela da Amadora teased their new Home kit and announced their new partnership with Umbro.

The design looks to be a retro-inspired one, with the Umbro logo all over the cuffs and the team's red and green tones do make for an interesting kit.

This deal is highly unusual, as Umbro is not a common brand in the Portuguese market. Probably is related to Patrice Evra's involvement in the team and his relationship to the brand.

Original (Jun 26):Recently promoted to the Primeira Liga, Estrela da Amadora might be leaving Lacatoni after just one year with the brand.

Lacatoni's social channels posted a video of their teams for the 2023-24 season in the highest division of football in Portugal.

The clubs that feature in the video are:

Estrela da Amadora is not present in the clip, which means they are changing kit supplier. They only had Lacatoni in the 2022-23 Segunda Liga and another brand, Claw, in the season before.

This change can be associated with the buyout of 90% of the club's shares by North-American tech company MYFC, a company where Patrice Evra, ex-french international player, belongs. The purchase was completed at the end of the 2021-22 season (so a change could have happened before) but getting to PrimeIra Liga could activate a clause in Lacatoni's contract with Estrela to allow the team to look for more globally relevant partners.

What do you think? Will Estrela da Amadora really change from Lacatoni or it's just a simple media mistake?
