Aston Villa Announce Plans to Update Logo for 150th Anniversary
Aston Villa's current crest, launched in 2022, had not the impact the club hoped for.
Aston Villa just launched an all-new logo in 2022. However, it "has not had the desired impact", according to the club. As a result, Aston Villa plan to re-engage with supporters to explore options for a new-look crest that delivers the required impact.
The club have already consulted with their Fan Advisory Board and assessed the impact of the current crest from a local, global, and commercial perspective. Using the results of the previous consultation process as the foundation, Aston Villa will again engage with supporters over the coming weeks to arrive at a permanent identity for the club.
The new crest will be used on all official club merchandise, including playing and training kits. Additionally, as part of a separate process, a special marque will be developed to recognize the club’s 150th anniversary. This anniversary marque will be included in club celebrations acknowledging the rich history of Aston Villa FC.
