No More Unique Blackouts | Aaron Lennon To Join New Balance?

Update: Aaron Lennon seems to have joined New Balance as he laced up in New Balance's Furon cleat in the first friendlies of the 2016-17 season. He wore blackout Nike Mercurial Vapor X leather boots last season.

Unique players, unique boots. Aaron Lennon and Muhamed Besic are both wearing one-of-a-kind blackout cleats. We take a closer look at the unique Nike Blackout Cleats worn by the Everton players.

Muhamed Besic and Aaron Lennon both debuted their unique blackout Nike Boots in Saturday's match against Chelsea, even though Muhamed Besic was already subbed off in the 8th minute while Aaron Lennon just played 18 minutes after he was subbed on in the 72th minute.

Let's start with Muhamed Bešić. Besic is wearing a modified blackout version of the Nike Magista Obra Boots featuring a cut-off Dynamic Fit collar. Similar to various other Nike athletes, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international manually cut off the trademark collar of his boots.

In fact, it was the first time that Muhamed Bešić laced up in the unbranded blackout Nike Magista Obra Boots, while he previously wore the orange Nike Magista Obra Boot Colorway featuring a lower Dynamic Fit collar. Besic also wore the Solar Blue Adidas X Boots during pre-season, so it's certain that the Everton FC midfielder is without a contract.

Let's continue with Aaron Lennon's Boots. While Aaron Lennon had been wearing blackout Nike Mercurial Vapor X Boots for months, the striker recently switched to a boot that looks almost identical but features a completely different upper. The close-up picture reveals that Aaron Lennon is wearing a blacked-out version of the Nike Mercurial Vapor 10 Kangaroo Leather Boots, which were released one month ago.

It's always interesting to see how much players care of their boots, although public perception believes that boots do not matter.
