Norwich City are close to announcing car maker Lotus as their main shirt sponsor for the 2021-22 Premier League season, according to a report by Pink Un.
Lotus and Norwich have been partnered up since 2019 when the football club and Norfolk performance car brand signed a deal that covers the training facility, now named The Lotus Training Centre as well as the then-new academy, named The Lotus Academy. Due to rules forbidding betting sponsors on children's kits, those have also featured the Lotus logo since 2019.
The extension of the deal to also cover the first-team shirt will put an end to the saga that started with the announcement of a sponsorship deal with betting company BK8, whose controversial marketing led to heavy criticism from the club's supporters. Norwich decided to pull out of the deal, leaving a £5 million hole in the budget for 21-22.

As per the report, the deal with Lotus will be for less than what BK8 had agreed to pay. It's expected to be announced "within the next few weeks".
