The Primeira Liga's sleeve badge might be updated ahead of the start of the 2023-24 season. Whether it is a full re-design, a small update or a staying the same, we will take a deep dive into the history of the patch of the highest tier of football in Portugal, the current design features and the reason why we believe it could change.
History:
The Primeira Liga's sleeve badge has evolved over the years, from the classic old-school design of the early 2000s to the modern and simplistic logo of today's time.
Funnily enough, the league's sponsor from the 2000s is, currently, the same: betting company Bwin.
The design characteristics show that there is room for improvement, maybe changing the badge shape to a circle or just updating the layout inside.
Change Incoming?:
The reason we think the sleeve badge might change is that all the teams who have, at least, released one new kit for the 2023-24 season do not have the option to customize the new jersey with the league's badge, on their official stores. This is highly unusual and could indicate a change in design.
