After 10 years of service to the Cityzens, Aguero has finally bid his farewell, leaving a void to fill for the number 10. However, the Argentine already seems to have an idea for that.
Despite Pep Guardiola's claim that replacing a player of Aguero's calibre is impossible, the striker himself believes the youngster Phil Foden is more than ready to take on the mantle.
On his usual Twitch stream on Wednesday, Aguero stated: "I think the No.10 shirt should be given to Phil Foden. Some say Kevin. The thing is, I believe Kevin used his number [17] at other clubs, so I don't think he would change it. That's why I think Phil Foden."
This is not at all surprising considering that he also once described that Foden's ability is world-class.
However, whether Foden may accept the number 10 remains a question. The talented midfielder currently wears no.47 as a tribute to his grandfather who passed away aged 47. Foden already declined to switch number once in 2019 so it remains to be seen whether he'll take on Aguero's number.
