Coventry City FC has unveiled a new collection inspired by the club’s infamous “Worst Kit of All Time.”
It was not announced if the Coventry 2026 1978 Inspired uniform will be worn in an official match.

This is the new Hummel Coventry 1978 Inspired football shirt for 2026.
The Hummel Coventry City F.C. 2026 1978 Inspired shirt reinterprets the iconic late-1970s design worn between 1978 and 1981. The updated version comes in a deeper chocolate plum colour, combined with Sky Blue elements that nod to the club’s traditional identity. It has the famous Tramline design base.
Rather than a straight retro remake, the Hummel Coventry City F.C. 2026 1978 Inspired shirt offers a modernised take on the original concept, which gained notoriety and cult status among supporters over the years.
