Puma are set to announce a "statement team" international kit deal in 2024, a spokesperson for the German sportswear firm said on Tuesday.

When asked why Puma did not extend their Israel kit deal, Puma said they would focus on a "fewer-bigger-better strategy."
A Puma spokesperson also said: "While two newly signed national teams - including a new statement team - will be announced later this year and in 2024, the contracts of some federations such as Serbia and Israel will expire in 2024," said the spokesperson.
Reports already revealed several months ago that Puma will sign Portugal - who are certainly the "statement team." The second team are apparently New Zealand, which just announced a deal today.
Portugal's contract with Nike ends at the end of 2024. The contract between Puma and Portugal will take effect in January 2025, when the connection to the North American brand ends. Portugal will wear Nike kits for the last time at Euro 2024 before switching to Puma kits.
As well as Israel, the relationship between Puma and Serbia will end in 2024. This is because Serbia's president ended the deal two years ahead of schedule. Puma already did design the Serbia Euro 2024 kits, which will be never released now.
