Following yesterday's surprise statement by the Spanish Football Federation in which it stated that it is "in negotiations to change technical supplier", Adidas has responded by declaring its intention to keep the current deal with the RFEF and will take the "required measures" to defend its rights.
According to the brand, "Adidas and the RFEF have been together for more than 35 years, in which the three-stripe brand has been providing its best service and quality to the highest body of Spanish football.
"Both entities signed in 2015 the extension of the contract in force until 31 December 2026. The contract has been fulfilled by both parties in an amicable manner and there is no reason whatsoever to justify the resolution sought by the RFEF," said Adidas.
Adidas "declares its intention to maintain the agreement signed until the end of the agreed period and, if necessary, will take the measures to defend its rights."
The Spanish Football Federation, RFEF, confirmed on Monday that it is in negotiations to change technical supplier of sportswear, since "the conditions when the contract was signed with Adidas do not meet the criteria of legality, transparency and fairness that it considers minimally acceptable."
Spain has also confirmed that it will comply with the Adidas deal until a resolution is signed. The Spain Euro 2020 home kit is set to be released in October.
