Update: One month after the official launch, the new EFL font has been debuted by various Championship, League One and League 2 sides. Various numbers of the new EFL typeface can be easily mixed up, e.g. the No.11 and No.77.
The new designs, created by Elms partnership, will continue to feature Mind’s logo with the number and the ‘squiggle’ will remain joined into the first letter of the player name – with the player’s name replacing the word Mind.
The reveal of the 2020-21 Ipswich Town kit has brought us a first look at the new font that will be used in the Football League next season.
The 2020-21 EFL name and number font once again supports the EFL’s charity partner, Mind, with a detail next to the player name as well as inside the numerals.
Albeit based on a similar base shape as its predecessor, the new EFL font has a very different vibe to it, thanks to the addition of cutouts at the corners.
The dots inside the numbers were removed in favor of a more subtle application of the Minds logo.
