Update: Adidas has chosen 100 designs for each club that could become the club's new third jerseys for the upcoming season. Adidas has asked each designer whose design has made the Top 100 shortlist to complete a short survey, while the brand also said that a panel of each club and Adidas' designers is currently working together to narrow the design shortlist even further.
Real Madrid star, Gareth Bale, said of the Creator Studio: "It’s an amazing opportunity for fans from all over the world to make their mark on their favourite club, and to be a part of the club’s history. Madrid fans are some of the most passionate in the world and I’m particularly excited to see what the club’s winning kit design looks like."
In August 2016, Adidas out of nowhere launched the Creator Studio, a place where interested fans and designers could create their own take on a kit for the brand's biggest clubs - in the end, one of those designs will be the base for the official third kit of the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus for the 2017-2018 season.
Adidas Allows Fans to Create 17-18 Third Kits
Here are some of the designs for the Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid 2017-18 third kits that made the Top 100 list:
Which design options were there?
For each team, both the base and secondary colors were set, more or less confirming those hues for the finished 2017-18 third kits.
- Real Madrid 17-18 Third kit - Turquoise / White
- Manchester United 17-18 Third kit - Light Grey / Dark Grey / White
- Bayern Munich 17-18 Third kit - White / Dark grey
- Juventus 17-18 Third kit - Military Green / Black / White
- AC Milan 17-18 Third kit - Black / Red
- Flamengo 17-18 Third kit - Yellow / Blue
Additionally, it was possible to add basic football shirt patterns to the front of the proposed 2017-2018 third jersey, with additional, club-specific graphic prints available as well. The latter graphics can also be added to the side panels and sleeves of the shirts.
