A new trademark filing has revealed that Leeds United is preparing a blast from the past for their upcoming kits. The club officially registered a retro crest in late November 2025, and we can exclusively confirm it is intended for use in the 2026-27 season. Big thanks to @jonsmith_lufc for the heads-up.
Leeds United Registers Retro Crest for 2026-27 Kits
The newly registered logo is a modern throwback to the crest used by the club between 1984 and 1997. It features the iconic Yorkshire Rose in the center, surrounded by a blue ring.
While faithful to the original, the 2026 version features slight color tweaks and, notably, removes the "AFC" text from the bottom to create a cleaner look.
To Be Used on 26-27 Away Kit
According to our exclusive information, this retro crest will not be used on the home shirt. Instead, it will feature prominently on the Leeds United 2026-27 away kit.
To complete the vintage aesthetic, the kit will pair this classic badge with the Adidas Trefoil logo, creating a timeless design that taps into the current trend of heritage football fashion.
