Closer Look | Isco's Modified Nike Mercurial Vapor XI 2017-18 Boots

Update: Following on Isco's great performance in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers match against Italy, many of you reached us out about the fact that the Spaniard is wearing modified Nike Mercurial Vapor XI football boots with a tongue (We already featured his camouflaged boots last December). The new pictures reveal that his boots have the same tech modifications as before (custom tongue, insole) as last year, while he changed the inscription on the upper.

Isco's Nike Mercurial Vapor 11 Boots Feature A Custom Tongue & Insole

Close-up of Isco's boots worn in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers match against Italy.

The upper of Isco's boots feature the date of birth of his child (Isco Jr), the Spanish flag as well as two other names.

Did you know that Real Madrid midfielder Isco is wearing camouflaged football boots? We didn't knew this before the Spaniard himself showed off his brand-new Nike Mercurial Vapor XI Dark Lightning soccer boots on Instagram yesterday.

Isco Receives Custom Nike Mercurial Vapor XI Boots With Custom Tongue

Isco's one-of-a-kind black and white Nike Mercurial Boots.

Isco's boots most remarkably feature a different tongue than the regular version of the Nike Mercurial Vapor XI Dark Lightning soccer cleats. Whereas the standard Nike Mercurial Vapor 11 comes with a almost tongue-less design (tongue directly connected with the upper), Isco's boot features a traditional tongue design. In fact, Isco's boot comes with the tongue of the Nike Mercurial Vapor 9 football shoe, which he even had been wearing for several weeks this season.

Another difference is the inner sole, which is red instead of blue. However, as the picture does only reveals the color of the insole, it can be not said if Isco uses a different one than that of the Nike Mercurial Vapor XI soccer cleat. All other parts of the boot, including the upper and the outsole, are the same as those from the standard edition.

Now all makes sense. Have you spotted other players with similar modifications? Let us know in the comments below.
