The official MLS Store has revealed which players' jerseys have sold the most units this season, with new LAFC arrival Gareth Bale claiming the number one spot.
25 Top-Selling MLS Jerseys
A list of the 25 best-selling player jerseys of the 2022 MLS campaign was published by the league on Monday. The list was compiled based on sales from the MLS online store from the beginning of the 2022 season in late February through til the 1st of September. Unsurprisingly, four of the top five are players who spent most of their careers in Europe before moving across the Atlantic.
New arrival Gareth Bale takes first place, despite only signing for LAFC three months ago. The former Real Madrid superstar is followed by Charlotte FC defender Christian Fuchs (No. 2), LAFC forward Carlos Vela (No. 3), LA Galaxy forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez (No. 4) and Atlanta United forward Josef Martinez (No. 5) to round out the top five.
In terms of club popularity, Seattle Sounders FC, 2022 Concacaf Champions League winners, lead with four jerseys in the top 25 – Raul Ruidiaz (No. 6), Jordan Morris (No. 9), Cristian Roldan (No. 14) and Nicolas Lodeiro (No. 16). Fifteen clubs and 16 countries are represented across the list.
