History was made in the Premier League yesterday. Taking the pitch during Brighton's 2-0 victory over Brentford, veteran midfielder James Milner officially surpassed Gareth Barry to become the all-time appearance record holder in the Premier League, marking his incredible 654th game.
To celebrate this monumental achievement, Nike presented the English legend with a very special gift.

The special Nike Phantom 6 '654' James Milner custom boots are based on the standard Nike Phantom 6 'Attack' model, but they feature several personalized touches to commemorate his historic career:
- The Record Number: The number "654" is prominently printed in purple on the heel of the boots. Additionally, the same "654" numbering is visibly inscribed on the soleplate.
- Personalized ID: Just below the Nike Swoosh on the side of the boot, the ID tag "Milly" is printed, referencing Milner's beloved nickname.
A History of Milestone Boots
This is not the first time Nike has celebrated Milner's incredible longevity. Previously, the Swoosh released a special pair of Phantom GT 2 boots to honor his 600th Premier League appearance alongside his 20-year anniversary with the brand.
A Special Shirt Detail
The tribute wasn't strictly limited to his footwear. Milner's match kit also received a brilliant subtle modification.
Inside the collar of his yellow Brighton jersey, the text "654th PL GAME" was added in a black, handwritten-style marker font, perfectly rounding out the tributes for his record-breaking day.
