Antoine Griezmann is set to wear a pair of unique boots in tonight's friendly against Uruguay, paying respect to a nation he admires, Uruguay and his home nation, France.
Antoine Griezmann has long been an admirer of Uruguay, even refusing to celebrate his goal against Uruguay that sent France to the semi-finals. Griezmann's mentors were Martin Lasarte (manager) and Carlos Bueno (player) and he is close friends with Diego Godin & Josema Gimenez. Griezmann is also an active supporter of Uruguay and often tweets during games.
"I didn't celebrate because when I started as a professional I was supported by a Uruguayan who taught me the good and the bad in football and I have a lot of respect for Uruguay," Griezmann said.
