New Balance Announce Standard Liège Kit Deal

New Balance yesterday announced that it will be the official kit supplier for Belgian first division side Royal Standard de Liège from the 2017-18 season. New Balance replaces previous shirt supplier Kappa.

Standard Liège is one of Belgium's most successful teams with 10 league titles and seven Belgian Cup wins, in addition to being the longest serving Belgian club in the top division.

The New Balance Standard Liège kit deal is valid for three years, from late Summer 2017 until Summer 2020. No other contract details have surfaced yet.

Bruno Venanzi, President of Standard Liège, commented: "New Balance and Standard Liège were destined to work together. The American brand is a revelation in kit design and has already worked with renowned clubs such as Liverpool FC, FC Porto, Celtic FC, Sevilla FC, Lille OSC and Athletic Club after only a short time operating in the football industry. Our club is pleased to be part of this network and hopes to build a solid foundation for future successes with New Balance."

Richard Wright, General Manager of New Balance Football, said: "As a brand we are delighted to announce that Standard Liège, one of the most successful ever Belgian sides, will be wearing New Balance. I’m sure the kits will be a big hit with the fans, we look forward to revealing them soon and hopefully being part of further success on the pitch with the team."

Jacques Royer, Owner of Royer Group, the distributor for New Balance in Belgium, said: "Royer Group is very proud and excited to be working with Standard Liège for the next three seasons in conjunction with New Balance. This is our first Football partnership in the Benelux and we are very happy with the choice of such a prestigious Club. We believe that this deal is the beginning of an exciting and successful adventure for all involved."

The first New Balance Standard Liège 2017-18 kits will be revealed on June 29 2017.
