To celebrate its 80th anniversary, Ligue 1 club Toulouse this morning unveiled a special jersey, made by Joma and featuring a clean, sponsor-less look.

This image shows the uber-classy Toulouse 80th Anniversary jersey.
A very classic look, the new Toulouse 80th Anniversary special jersey comes in the club's traditional purple and is made of a thicker, more retro cotton material. The collar, including a lace to adjust fit, of the jersey is also a reference to football shirts worn in the first half of the 20th century.
On the left chest of the shirt sits a crest created especially for the occasion of the 80th anniversary. It was designed by a fan of the club, Julien, and was chosen amongst more than 400 creations by all supporters.
Last but not least, two more or less subtle writings on the shirt further round off the special look of the Toulouse 80th Anniversary jersey. First, there is a "La Garonne is Viola" (The Garonne is Purple - a chant of the club) writing above the hem on the right side, and secondly there are "Depuis 1937" (Since 1937) texts on the back neck and below the crest.
Some controversy surrounds this anniversary celebration as well. Although a Toulouse FC was founded in 1937, it was dissolved in 1967 and its license bought up by Parisian club Red Star. Today's Toulouse FC, founded in 1970, does not hold any official connection with the one founded 80 years ago.
