Galatasaray Posts Image of Fake Kit

Galatasaray and their shirt supplier Puma have made a rather embarrassing blunder on social media. In a now-deleted joint Instagram post, the official accounts accidentally shared a picture featuring a clear counterfeit version of the club's shirt. Huge thanks to @emirozturkgala for the spot.

Embarrassing Mistake: Galatasaray and Puma Show Fake Kit on Official Instagram

The image, captioned "Scenes from Istanbul," showed a close-up of someone proudly holding the Galatasaray home kit. However, supporters immediately realized that something was very wrong with the detailing. A side-by-side comparison confirms that the club crest featured in the photo is a cheap, poorly manufactured fake.

The easiest giveaway is the five stars located above the badge. On the fake shirt posted to Instagram, the stars are messily embroidered, uneven, and the stitching connects them. The official kit has the logos heat-applied, also.

Once the social media teams realized the massive error, the post was swiftly removed from the channel. However, the internet never forgets.
