To start off the weekend Wolfsburg celebrated a wild 5-3 win at home against Werder Bremen. Bittencourt put Bremen ahead early on but Wolfsburg managed to go ahead 3-2 up until halftime and decided the 3-3 thriller after a quick equaliser within the last 15 minutes. This means that VfL Wolfsburg is still unbeaten after 9 matchdays (4 wins, 5 draws).
Interestingly, Wolfsburg's top player Wout Weghorst who scored a brace never wore the club's logo on his football shirt. Thanks to @Ersin_044 for the heads-up.
Dutch International Wout Weghorst Wears No Club Logo
The most logical reason for Weghorst to not wear the club's logo on his shirt is that the kitman simply forgot to equip this shirt with a logo and the club only had one shirt for each player available.
Another far-fetched reason could be an intentional sacrifice of Wolfsburg's logo. For context: Weghorst openly admitted during the summer break that he wants to win titles and does not see this chance given Wolfsburg's current squad and player depth. The Dutch striker is looking for a way out and a move could materialise during the 'winter break'. Weghorst was linked with a move to the Premier League. These rumours came at a point of time when the transfer window in Germany was already over, while Premier League teams could still make deals.
