Special Barcelona 25-26 'Down Syndrome' Kit Font Revealed - Debut Against Newcastle

For the highly anticipated second leg against Newcastle United at the Spotify Camp Nou on March 18, Barcelona will replace their standard cup nameset with something much more special. The team will sport a unique, bespoke font designed specifically to raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day, which is celebrated globally on March 21.

FC Barcelona 25-26 'Down Syndrome' Kit Typeface

This image shows the special Barcelona 25-26 font, designed by Anna Vives.

This special Barcelona 25-26 typeface was beautifully designed by Anna Vives, a talented young Catalan artist who has Down syndrome. The collaboration is a central part of the Barça Foundation's campaign to promote inclusion and raise awareness for the condition.

The font itself features a highly distinctive, playful, and handwritten aesthetic, seamlessly mixing upper and lower case letters to create a truly unique look across the entire squad's names and numbers.

Long-time football kit enthusiasts might experience a sense of déjà vu with this release. If this typography looks familiar, that is because Barcelona previously wore this exact same Anna Vives design 13 years ago, back in 2013, during the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Santos for the very same noble cause.

Bringing it back for a major European night in 2026 is a fantastic gesture by the club.
