Exclusive: Possible Adidas 2022 World Cup Ball Panel Design Leaked

We can leak the possible panel design for the 2022 World Cup Official Match Ball.

The patent was filed on 13 May 2021 and registered on 21 November 2021

Adidas have filed a patent claim for the panel design of the "Ball" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in May 2021. It was registered on November 23, 2021.

It is very likely that the patent shows off the panels of the Adidas 2022 World Cup football - there is a small chance that is the panel design for another sports ball.

The Adidas 2022 World Cup football is Adidas' first ball with a new panel design and tech since the 2018 World Cup, the Telstar.

Adidas 2022 World Cup Panel Design

The new Adidas 2022 World Cup ball has more panels than the 2018 World Cup ball and previous modern Adidas balls. Instead of 6 panels, Adidas opt for around a dozen. This certainly increases flight stability.

Adidas appear to double the amount of panels

The new panel shape combines two different panel shapes - a 'trident' and a hexagon. The panels are intertwined.

Design-wise, we expect the ball to be influenced by the look of old Arabic books, Rihla.
