Retailer Subsidized Sports has announced the arrival of official 2006 FIFA World Cup badge remakes, marking the first time in football history that authentic World Cup tournament patches are being reproduced for retail sale.
2006 World Cup Remake Badges
The 2006 World Cup remake badges are one-to-one remakes of the official badges. They are made by SportingID, one of the few global suppliers of official badges, who also made the badges in 2006. The patches represent a significant breakthrough in football memorabilia, allowing collectors and fans to add official World Cup branding to their retro kits with historically accurate badges that were previously unavailable after tournaments ended.
It remains unclear whether this release is limited exclusively to the 2006 Germany World Cup in Germany or if other iconic tournaments from football history will also be remade.
This development follows the 2025 re-release of the Premier League's 2007-2017 font and numbering system, which allowed fans to properly customize their classic shirts with period-accurate printing.
The 2006 World Cup remakes patches are not yet available for purchase.
