Nike Does Not Want This - Nike Players Still Wear Discontinued Magista Boots

Around six weeks ago, Nike launched the all-new Nike Phantom VSN football boot. Replacing the Nike Magista soccer cleat that was introduced in 2014, it was expected that we would not see the Nike Magista on the pitch often in the 2018-2019 season. However, the 2018-19 season has already kicked off, and there are plenty of players still wearing the Nike Magista soccer cleats.

It seems like that the biggest problem is that the Nike Phantom Vision (only available as knitted mid-collar boot) is totally different to the synthetic Nike Magista Opus, making it hard for player to Magista Opus II players to swtich to them. In fact, Nike created a custom low-cut Nike Phantom VSN football boot for Busquets (spotted in training), who is nevertheless still rocking the Nike Magista Opus in training.

Many of those player featured in this article have been already spotted wearing the Nike Phantom Vision soccer cleat or another Nike silo than the Magista in training (Bonucci - Hypervenom, Eric Dier - Phantom VSN) . However, all of these players have worn the Nike Magista Opus / Obra in their last official match this season.
