In early March 2021, Pirelli chief Marco Tronchetti Provera confirmed that Pirelli will end its time as the main sponsor on Inter's shirt in summer 2021, after 26 years. Now Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed new info about Inter's search for their new shirt sponsor.
Inter Owners Suning Hope For 20-25 Million Euro Deal
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, "Inter’s new shirt sponsor is expected to pay the club more than double what Pirelli gave them". Pirelli was paying Inter €11 million plus bonuses each year - Inter owners Suning "expect to secure a deal worth around €20-25 million per season".
Pirelli could leave Inter completely
Suning was in talks with two groups about the sponsorship of Inter's shirt. One of the interested groups is said to be 'a big Chinese name', but they have the same issues as Suning in terms of exporting capital abroad, due to Chinese government restrictions.
La Gazzetta dello Sport also says that Pirelli could leave Inter completely - it was previously expected that Pirelli would stay as a small partner of the club.
