FIFA to Make Sure that Teams Wear Home Kits At Least Once
The governing body has confirmed its preference for teams to wear their primary home kits where possible.
According to Article 29 of the official regulations, FIFA will inform participating teams of their designated kit colors one month before the tournament begins. As per the rules, the priority is for teams to wear their first-choice colors. Of course, FIFA has implemented a clear system to handle potential color clashes.
The regulations establish a specific priority order for kit assignments, starting with Team A's outfield kit, followed by Team B's outfield kit, and then the respective goalkeeper kits. The match officials' kit color is considered last in this hierarchy.
Notably, FIFA has committed to ensuring each team gets to wear their first-choice playing kit at least once during the group stage. This marks an important consideration for club identity while maintaining practical solutions for color clashes.

In previous FIFA tournaments, it happened that teams never wore their home kit. The new rules ensure that this virtually can't happen.
The rules also include provisions for color vision deficiency, with FIFA considering dark-kit versus light-kit contrast in their color assignments. Teams must bring both their first-choice and alternative kits, including goalkeeper shirts, to every match.
All kit color assignments will be reviewed during the Match Coordination Meeting by the FIFA Match Director, with FIFA's decisions being final.
However, several Puma teams will release specific kits for the 2025 Club World Cup - those of Manchester City do apparently not feature the team's classic sky blue colors.
