In recent days, speculation has been building around the possibility of Nike becoming the new kit supplier for Vasco da Gama. Many thanks to Brazilian kit experts Mantos do Futebol for compiling all the information and creating the beautiful deal image.
Nike to Reportedly Sign Vasco da Gama for 2026
The news that Nike would become Vasco's kit maker was revealed by Madruga Vascaíno, who reported that Nike would take over by mid-2025.
Vasco’s agreement with Kappa is set to end in mid-2025, paving the way for a new sponsor to step in. Nike has never made Vasco's kit, even though the club has had very many kit makers in its history.
Nike representatives will be visiting Brazil soon, with possible discussions for both the Seleção and Vasco deals
However, additional sources have tempered expectations for a 2025 launch. Fábio Azevedo from Fanático Vascaíno, who reportedly verified the information with multiple insiders, suggested that Nike might instead aim for a 2026 debut with the club. Azevedo noted that Nike's production timelines may not allow for a mid-2025 release, so the parties are allegedly exploring a contract that would see Nike outfits ready for the start of the 2026 season. This timeline would also allow Kappa to remain with Vasco through the end of 2025.
Reports from Vasco specialists Super Vasco reinforce this 2026 outlook, noting that after its current contract, Vasco plans to sign a short extension with Kappa to run until December 2025. This approach would allow for a smoother transition between suppliers and give Nike ample time to prepare and launch a full line of kits, aligning with the club’s schedule and likely generating considerable anticipation for the iconic Swoosh.
Indeed, it is rumored that Nike company representatives will be visiting Brazil soon, with possible discussions for both the Brazilian national and Vasco deals on the agenda.
