Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday announced a "record-breaking" multi-year sponsorship deal with DEBET, making the gaming platform the club’s principal and front of shirt partner for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. This partnership is the largest in Wolves' history and will see the DEBET logo prominently displayed on both playing and training kits.
The announcement confirms the earlier leak that saw DEBET's logo appear on the unreleased Wolves 24-25 away kit.
While Wolves' press release states that DEBET is one of "Southeast Asia’s fastest growing gaming platforms", when we researched the firm at the time of the initial leak, we found that DEBET promotes itself as "one of the leading German betting houses." However, DEBET is not active in Germany, and the website is only available in Vietnamese. We also found that the official Facebook page had just two followers, and the X account had no followers at all.
Alan Alger, spokesperson for DEBET, said: “This is a historic deal for DEBET and everyone is already excited for next season to begin and to see the branding on the shirts and throughout the stadium. Wolves is a prestigious club and everyone at DEBET is proud to be part of the biggest principal partner deal the club has ever signed.”
Russell Jones, Wolves’ general manager for marketing and commercial growth, said: “We are delighted to announce this record partnership between Wolves and DEBET. Since our discussions began, we’ve been impressed with their professional approach, and their appointment of knowledgeable individuals, who will be dedicated to making sure this partnership is a success.”
The partnership will conclude at the end of the 2025-26 season, aligning with the Premier League clubs' ban of gambling sponsorships on matchday shirts.
