Happy Birthday, Alexis | Here Is Sánchez's Full Boot History

Alexis Sánchez, Chile and Arsenal forward, celebrates his birthday 28th birthday today. We take a look at the boots worn by a player who already played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Alexis Sanchez's First Years in Europe - Nike Mercurial

Alexis Sánchez joined Barcelona from Udinese in 2011.

Sánchez, began his career at Chilean club Cobreloa wearing Nike Mercurial soccer boots, while he joined Udinese in 2007 at the age of 19. It is not known since when he has been an official Nike athlete, but it seems certain that he has been sponsored by Swoosh for at least several years as he never laced up in other cleats than Nike boots during his career.

Alexis Sanchez Joins Barcelona, Supposed to Be New Hypervenom Face

Joining Barcelona in 2011, Alexis Sanchez became a key player of the Mercurial. When Nike launched the Mercurial, Alexis Sánchez was one of the players who received Nike's new agility boot, and also featured in promotion events ahead of the launch amongst Hypervenom players such as Neymar, Higuain, Rooney and Lewandowski. But while most of the best players who were supposed to wear Nike's Hypervenom cleats actually switched to them for some years, the Chilean did not like the agility cleat and returned his Nike Mercurial boots.

In 2014, he switched to the high-cut Nike Mercurial Superfly soccer cleats. Another remarkable note is that he laced up in the leather edition of the Mercurial Superfly boots in 2015 for some matches.
