Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are set to sell more than one million shirts in a single season, according to a report from Le Parisien. This would be the first time in the club’s history.
When Qatar Sports Investments took over PSG in 2011-12, the club sold just over 250,000 shirts in the group’s first season. Last year, PSG already sold 800,000 jerseys.
Paris Saint-Germain To Sell More Than 1 Million Kits
PSG’s impressive shirt sales this season are understood to be mainly because of the Jordan Champions League kits with the ‘Jump Man’ logo. Jordan is a sub-brand of PSG kit supplier Nike.
In the first weekend after the launch, PSG sold over 80,000 Jordan X PSG shirts. The first month of sales alone, according to a report from Le Parisien, injected an extra €15m in revenue into the club (150,000 kits sold). The jersey sales in the USA increased by 470% since the collaboration with Jordan.

When the sales trend continues, PSG will become one of the top-five biggest shirt sellers in global football - the other teams are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
Fabien Allègre, director of brand diversification at Paris Saint-Germain, said to SportBusiness Sponsorship: “Sales of Paris Saint-Germain official products have increased 400% since 2011, driven by Paris Saint-Germain’s increasingly strong international reputation.
“In addition to the partnership with Jordan, which brings Paris Saint-Germain to many retail stores, particularly in North America and Asia, the club is also the first European team to open an official club shop in Tokyo.”
