In late Summer 2018, ahead of the start of the 2018-2091 season, Nike will launch the all-new Nike FTR10 football boot, replacing the popular Nike Magista Obra boots. Let's take an in-depth look at the Nike Magista football boots silo that will have their last appearance in the 2018 World Cup.
First-Gen Nike Magista Obra - 2014-2016
The revolutionary Nike Magista football boots were launched in March 2014 by FC Barcelona superstar Iniesta. The Nike Magista changed the design of football boots forever featuring a sock-like collar and a knitted upper. Mario Götze scored the 2014 World Cup-winning goal in them.
In total, Nike released 26 different colorways and special editions of the first-generation Nike Magista football boot.
Nike Magista Obra II - 2016-2018
The next-gen Nike Magista Obra II football boots were introduced in July 2016 with an extremely bold and flamboyant look, designed to be like an organic extension of the foot. They were debuted in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The concept of the second-generation Nike Magista Obra football boots remained the one of the first generation. Made for the creative midfielder, the second-gen Nike Magista Obra cleats were again engineered for unrivaled comfort, ball touch and agility featuring a knitted upper, a sock-like collar and a newly developed 'Ball Texture' (for the first colorways, the ball texture was visually highlighted through a heatmap-like gradient print).
Nike FTR10 - 2018 - ?
The successor of the Nike Magista is the Nike FTR10 football boot. Designed for the modern playmaker who does not only need control but also agility and speed, the Nike Future 10 soccer shoes feature ghost laces, an all-new upper design as well as a completely revamped outsole with both conical and triangular studs. The Nike FTR10 football boot will be headlined by De Bruyne.
