Fluminense 23-24 Third Kit Released - Homage to Cartola

Umbro have officially launched Fluminense's new third shirt for the 2023-2024 season, paying tribute to the samba school, Estação Primeira de Mangueira, and samba player Cartola, the club's iconic fan.

The launch took place on October 11th, which is the birthday of Cartola, the poet and founder of the samba school, who chose the club's colors. Cartola was a Brazilian composer, poet, and singer who became known throughout the country as a master of samba. On 11th October 1908, he was born in Rio de Janeiro with the name Angenor de Oliveira.

This is the new Umbro Fluminense FC third football shirt for 2023-24.

The Umbro Fluminense 23-24 third football shirt is green with pink cuffs and a round collar, in reference to Mangueira.

On the body of the Umbro Fluminense 23-24 third football shirt, the lyrics of the song “Corre e olhe o Céu” from 1974 are placed in a font that replicates Cartola's own handwriting. The shirt also features a special seal with an iconic drawing of the artist with the tricolor shirt and the name “Mestre Cartola” in a stylized font.

Inside the collar of the new Umbro Fluminense 2023-24 third shirt is the name Cartola stylized with Fluminense elements, further emphasizing the relationship between the club and the poet.
