Adidas Dominates 2015-16 Champions League Kits Battle

There can be no doubt. Adidas wins the 2015-16 UEFA Champions League Kit Battle at a large distance between all other kit suppliers, including arch rivals Nike and Puma.

After last season's UEFA Champions League Final was dominated by Nike, who supplied the kits for Champions League winners FC Barcelona and Juventus as well as the boots for 14 of 22 players, the German brand has managed to turn the tables this season.

Adidas Supplies Kits For 14 Teams

Adidas now makes the kits for European giants Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid taking over Juventus and Manchester United from US-rivals Nike.

But the German sportswear supplier does not only produce the jerseys for the biggest clubs, Adidas also signed renowned teams such as Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Lyon, Olympiakos and Valencia. In total, Adidas makes the shirts for 14 Champions League teams.

After Nike lost Manchester United and Juventus, the Swoosh makes the shirts for teams like Barcelona, Galatasaray, Inter, Manchester City and AS Roma. In total, Nike produces the kits for eight teams participating in the 2015-16 Champions League.

Puma makes the shirts for just three teams, while Kappa (Mönchengladbach, Wolfsburg), New Balance (Porto, Sevilla) and Umbro (PSV Eindhoven ) will try to create a lasting impression.

Joma (BATE) and Jartazi (KAA Gent) will not play a major role in the 2015-2016 UEFA Champions League, while brands such as Macron failed to sign any 15-16 Champions League Group Stage club. Thanks to Mantos de Futebol for the second graphic.

Nike Wins Champions League Boot Battle

Nike supplies the boots for more than half of the players.

Nike makes the boots for approximately 53% of all Champions League players, followed by Adidas who signed 35% of all players (via www.footballbootsdb.com). Puma managed to sign 8% of all 2015-16 Champions League players.

New Balance (Kompany, Nasri, Navas, Negredo, Ramsey) and Under Armour (Memphis Depay, Xhaka) enter European's Football Biggest Stage this season and will try to make a lasting impact - if that's even possible in a market heavily dominated by two brands.
