Update 18/01/2016: Puma have updated the wording on the Puma evoSPEED SL sticker on the sole plate (via @soccercleats101). They replaced the writing "Due to its extremely lightweight design, it's expected to last up to 10 games." with the lettering "A non-compromise lightweight proposition, this product is about speed, not endurance". However, while their text even includes a typo 'It's for you best days', Puma in the meantime already released a more durable version of the Puma evoSPEED SL that lasts more than 10 games - the Puma evoSPEED SL-S.
It's ridiculous. The new Puma evoSPEED SL 2015 Boots are Puma's lightest-ever football boots weighing in at just over 100 gram (3.6 oz). And now, Puma quietly confirmed that the Puma evoSPEED SL 2015-2016 Boots will only last up to 10 matches.
There have always been concerns about the durability of ultra-lightweight soccer cleats, and now it's officially confirmed that the new Puma evoSPEED SL Camo Boot is anything but durable. So what's really going on here?
Puma evoSPEED SL Camo Boots To Last only 10 matches
This is the new Puma evoSPEED SL 2015-2016 Camo Boot.
It's logical that the new Puma evoSPEED SL Boots are only suitable to use on real grass, and may not be used on Artificial Grass to avoid issues. But when we read the disclaimer on the outsole of the new Puma evoSPEED SL Camo Boots we were quite astonished (via @SC 101).
NOTE: The evoSPEED SL is not for training days. It's for your best days. Your match days. It may only be used on real grass. Due to its extremely lightweight design, it's expected to last up to 10 games. But the moments it creates will last forever.
So Puma confirmed that the new Puma evoSPEED SL Boots will only last for 10 matches on real grass, despite the price tag of 250 USD. It will cost you 25 USD per match (0.28 USD per minute) to play with the new Puma evoSPEED SL Boots.

While the Puma evoSPEED SL Camo Boot is limited to 500 pairs globally, the first regular colorways of the Puma evoSPEED SL 2015-2016 Boots won't be a limited edition release. In fact, the new Puma evoSPEED SL 2015-2016 Boots will be launched on 24 June 2015, and will face the same durability issues as the Puma evoSPEED SL Camo Boots.
We think that's going too far. What do you think of the declared durability of the new Puma evoSPEED SL Boots? Let us know in the comments below.
