Leaving Nike, Galatasaray have officially inked a 5-year deal with Puma, as announced through the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). The contract spans from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2029, encompassing five seasons.
Puma's commitment involves a substantial financial arrangement, with the sportswear giant pledging a total fixed payment of 25 million Euros to Galatasaray. In addition, Galatasaray will receive bonus payments if certain targets are hit as well as royalties from merchandise sold.
Today's announcement confirms earlier rumors about the club joining Puma, although the financial figures reported back then were slightly lower than the 5 million Euros per season announced by the club.
As per the earlier stories, a key advantage of the new deal with Puma is that Galatasaray do not have to order shirts more than 12 months in advance. Puma are said to be more flexible, allowing the club to increase or reduce the number of kits they order depending on demand.
Galatasaray x Nike Kits - 2011-2024
Galatasaray wore Puma kits for a brief period in the early 1980s, but the likes of Adidas, Umbro and Lotto have had a much bigger impact.
The new kit deal could bring a fresh look to Galatasaray's players. However, Footy Headlines strongly expect the Puma Galatasaray home kit to be classic.
