Rooney has surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton's record of 249 goals for Manchester United last week.
Wayne Rooney scored every goal for the club wearing Nike boots, but it was nevertheless both very surprising and odd to see that Manchester United, who signed a billion pound deal with Adidas three years ago, created a trophy to honor Rooney that features not an Adidas boot but a Nike boot, the Nike Tiempo Legend V.
It was Wayne Rooney's second match as Manchester United's all-time leading top goal scorer and also his second match wearing the Nike Hypervenom special-edition boots Nike released two commemorate his record. He has not scored a goal with his new boots yet.
